Fulham are set to sign striker Stefano Okaka from Serie A side Roma on a six month loan deal. The deal could be extended if Okaka impresses at Craven Cottage. The two clubs have agreed on the deal and Okaka will join up with his new team mates just as soon as he agrees personal terms. Okaka has fallen out of favour at Roma since the arrival of Luca Toni from Bayern Munich.

The signing of Stefano Okaka is a big boost for Fulham after losing Striker Bobby Zamora for up to eight weeks through injury. Zamora dislocated his shoulder in Fulham’s Premier League clash against Stoke and Okaka is expected to provide cover in his absence.

The Italy under-20 international Okaka rejected offers from Bari and Chievo to sign for Fulham and Roma’s sporting director Daniele Prade said, “He is 20 and the Premier League is the right tournament for him to prove his characteristics and potential.(Roy) Hodgson has already stated his full confidence in the player, the only thing missing is Stefano’s signature.”

Hull City manager Phil Brown has called out for premiership players to return from the Africa Cup of Nations after the Togo team bus came under gunfire on Friday.

Two of the Togo players were shot and hurt while the teams coach driver was killed. Hull City have players Daniel Cousin and Seyi Olofinjana out there and there are more than 30 other Premier League stars like Chelsea’s Didier Drogba and Man City’s Adebayor at the tournament.

Phil Brown told The Sun: “I have two players on duty and I want them home.”
