Arsenal skipper Robin Van Persie is set to snub Italian giants Juventus after the Bianconeri revealed that they were interested in securing his services this summer. Juventus, winners of Serie A in 2011/12, have made no secret of their admiration for the Dutch star but Van Persie is reportedly not too keen on a move to Italy.
The prolific Dutch centre forward doesn’t view Juventus as a major step up from Arsenal and the fact that his family are well settled in London is also a factor. Van Persie will reportedly quit Arsenal only if a major European superpower ( read Real Madrid or Barcelona) come calling.
Van Persie has a year left on his contract at Arsenal but officials are confident of getting him to pen a new deal soon.

Arsenal forward Carlos Vela has indicated that he would like to continue his stay at Real Sociedad. The Mexican striker has been loaned out by the Gunners to the Basque outfit and the 22 year old, who also netted in his club’s recent 2-1 loss to Barcelona, has indicated that he likes life at the Anoeta and sees a future there.
Vela told El Diario Vasco that while he was grateful to Arsenal for all what they had done, he wasn’t happy in London with the amount of first team opportunities made available to him.
Vela has scored three goals and assisted in five others since his switch to San Sebastian from the Emirates Stadium.
Spurs sign Falque, loan him out to Southampton
Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a permanent deal with Juventus for youngster Iago Falque and have also loaned out him to manager Harry Redknapp’s old club Southampton. Vigo born Falque, a former Barcelona and Madrid youth player, was on loan at White Hart Lane since the summer and the Lilywhites decided to convert it into a permanent deal.
The 21 year old, who has been capped by Spain at various youth levels now joins Nigel Adkins’ Saints, who are hoping to maintain their current momentum in the Championship and seal a return to the Premier League. Southampton at this moment are tied on points with West Ham United at the top of the Championship standings.
Saints boss Nigel Adkins said that he was delighted with the addition of Falque to their ranks at St.Mary’s.
