According to reliable sources, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Celtic winger James Forrest and are prepared to offer the Hoops £7m for the winger’s services. Scouts from the North London club watched Forrest in yesterday’s game against St.Mirren in which he scored one of the two goals in the Hoops’ win and have informed Harry Redknapp that he could be a good buy.

Spurs are currently short of wingers and their creativity tends to be hampered if one of Gareth Bale or Aaron Lennon get injured.

Celtic have Forrest contracted to them till 2016 and manager Neil Lennon wants to keep the winger. But unlike the case of Gary Hooper, for whom Celtic rejected repeat bids from Championship outfit Southampton, Forrest could become more hard to keep if Spurs come knocking on the door.

WBA inch closer to Scott Allan capture

West Bromwich Albion have all but completed the transfer of Scottish midfielder Scott Allan. Allan, 20, is set to become Roy Hodgson’s first signing of 2012, with the Baggies set to pay his club Dundee United a reported £350,000-£400,000 fee.

Allan is primarily a central midfielder who can also play on the wings if required. He is out of contract at Dundee United in the summer, which forced the SPL club to accept Albion’s offer for him. Only personal terms remain to be agreed.

Allan was the subject of interest of Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers as well as Newcastle United. He has been capped by Scotland at U-21 level and also had a loan spell at Forfar Athletic in 2010.

Izaguirre- Man United wanted me in January

Celtic left back Emilio Izaguirre has claimed that Manchester United were interested in signing him in the January winter transfer window. Izaguirre made the claim in his native Honduras and added that United and Celtic were also likely to meet up later next month in order to decide his future.

However Celtic coach Neil Lennon has denied any approach for Izaguirre or Israeli midfielder Beram Kayal, the two most in demand Hoops players at this moment. He also added that while every player had his price, Izaguirre was not for sale.

Izaguirre was one of Celtic’s standout players last season following his switch from Motagua and was also recently linked with a move to Liverpool FC, United’s great Premier League rivals.

Bolton and Villa to slug it out for Kayal

According to news reports, Bolton and Aston Villa are set to slug it out in the summer for the signature of Celtic’s Israeli star Beram Kayal. Medio Kayal is expected to leave Parkhead this summer and the Premier League seems like a likely destination for him, with Bolton Wanderers and Aston Villa both interested in his services.

Kayal is rated at around £3m, a figure that suits both the Trotters and Villa perfectly. Celtic finished second in the SPL last season, with Kayal turning in some eye catching performances for the Hoops before his season was ended by a wrist injury. Several other Premier League clubs are set to be interested in Kayal, who has said that he hopes to continue his good form next season.
