Manchester United look set to miss out on Kwadwo Asamoah with newly crowned Serie A champions Juventus close to sealing a deal for the Ghanaian.
The Udinese star has been on United's radar for some time and it has been suggested that Sir Alex Ferguson might attempt to sign him this summer as he bids to wrestle back the title from Manchester City next season.
But the United chief will have to look elsewhere with Juve now odds on to land the 23-year-old midfielder.

Manchester City and Arsenal target Younes Belhanda says he wants to remain with Montpellier for the new season.
Both Premier League clubs are tracking Belhanda, who was recently named the Young Player of the Year in France.
City have looked at Belhanda as a possible alternative to Eden Hazard but the club are confident of signing the Lille star and see no room for Belhanda in their squad.
Arsenal, meanwhile, remain keen on the Morocco international and were said to be ready to make a move for him.
