Liverpool sign next “Deco” from Sporting
Liverpool have completed the signing of highly rated Portuguese midfielder Joao Carlos Teixeira. Teixeira, dubbed by many as the next Deco in Portugal, has arrived at Anfield from Sporting CP. The 19 year old caught the eye of Reds scouts with some impressive performances against them in the NextGen Series back last year.
Liverpool did not announce the compensation fee they had paid Sporting for his services, but reports estimate it to be around £850,000.
Teixeira will first start off at Liverpool’s academy and staff are hoping that he can replicate the success enjoyed by Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Figo and Nani, all products of the Sporting youth academy.
Madrid ready to take massive hit on Kaka
Real Madrid are ready to write off more than £30m in losses on Brazilian midfielder Kaka after manager Jose Mourinho indicated his willingness to allow the playmaker forward to leave in the forthcoming January transfer window. Kaka joined Real from AC Milan for a whopping £55m in 2009 but hasn’t quite had the same impact as fellow marquee signing Cristiano Ronaldo at the Bernabeu.
Injuries have not helped the mercurial forward’s cause and Mourinho is reportedly ready to allow him to go because he has plenty of cover in midfield.
Kaka’s reported £20m + asking price will interest several known admirers, with Chelsea, French moneybags Paris Saint-Germain and his former club AC Milan leading the race to offer him an exit route from the Bernabeu.
