Tottenham Hotspur striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has completed his long awaited switch to Lokomotiv Moscow by signing a three and a half year contract with the Russian Premier League outfit. The fee Lokomotiv paid for Pavlyuchenko’s services was not revealed, but sources have it to be around the £8m mark.
With the Russian window still open, Russian skipper Andrei Arshavin is also expected to follow his team-mate back to Russia. Anzhi and Zenit have already expressed their interest in taking Arshavin back and with his popularity at the Emirates at an all time low, the playmaker may chose to go back to Russia to reinvigorate himself ahead of the 2012 European Championships.
Wenger is said to prefer Arshavin to stay, but the final decision may lie with the Russian himself.
Spurs sign Saha, let Pienaar move in the opposite direction
Champions League chasing Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of striker Louis Saha from Everton. The former Fulham and Manchester United forward has joined the Lilywhites on an eighteen month deal. Spurs also announced that South African captain Steven Pienaar would move in the opposite direction to Goodison Park on loan till the end of the season.
Saha’s transfer was a bit of a shock one on transfer deadline day as the striker has passed his prime in the eyes of many. However Redknapp insisted that the Frenchman, who scored the fastest FA Cup final goal in 2009, had plenty to offer to the goal.

According to reliable sources, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Celtic winger James Forrest and are prepared to offer the Hoops £7m for the winger’s services. Scouts from the North London club watched Forrest in yesterday’s game against St.Mirren in which he scored one of the two goals in the Hoops’ win and have informed Harry Redknapp that he could be a good buy.
Spurs are currently short of wingers and their creativity tends to be hampered if one of Gareth Bale or Aaron Lennon get injured.
Celtic have Forrest contracted to them till 2016 and manager Neil Lennon wants to keep the winger. But unlike the case of Gary Hooper, for whom Celtic rejected repeat bids from Championship outfit Southampton, Forrest could become more hard to keep if Spurs come knocking on the door.
Giallorossi linked with Spurs defender
Italian giants AS Roma have been linked with a move with Tottenham Hotspur’s Croatian defender Vedran Corluka. Corluka has been largely restricted to warming the benches at White Hart Lane this season after the meteoric rise of young England full back Kyle Walker, who has firmly established himself as Spurs’ no.1 on the right side of defence, and Roma are said to be open to taking him on loan.
Corluka’s last Premier League start was in the 5-1 loss to Manchester City in August. Harry Redknapp is said to want him to stay in order to preserve his side’s depth but Corluka wants first team football, with one eye on Croatia’s upcoming Euro 2012 campaign in Poland and Ukraine.
